...But Can They Afford to Post Bail?

It would have made for an interesting entry on the customs declaration form:
Japan is investigating reports two of its citizens were detained in Italy after allegedly attempting to take $134 billion worth of U.S. bonds over the border into Switzerland.
They were nabbed by Italian authorities, and (if the bonds are real) could be fined up to 40% of the bonds' value.

  1. Still think Bush only included North Korea in his 'Axis of Evil' just so he would not appear racist against middle easterners?

He seems to have hit the nail on the head with those three.

  2. As long as we are off topic . . .

I don't know of anyone who thinks that the North Korean government is a bunch of "good guys"; but I think the comment that you are referring to was originally made by a Bush speech writer and only repeated by Aaron.

  3. We've been around this issue before with a similar anonymous coward; probably the same one. I'd be embarrassed to sign my name to that type of sniping, though, so the desire for anonymity is understandable.

  4. Aaron, I understand why you avoid the issue and instead just name-call.

On this one issue, at least, Bush was correct.

  5. "Anonymous coward" isn't an insult - it's a somewhat playful term attached by a lot of sites to people who don't attach their names to their opinions. As you know, that gives a lot of people a sense of false courage - the sense that they can say things without having to stand behind their words. Perhaps you're not aware of that internet tradition?

  6. Aaron,
perhaps you're aware of the tradition amongst civilised human beings that you shouldn't name-call instead of just addressing the issue; unless you are a rude person, or a child.
