"If they don't learn it in school...."
They'll learn it in the school yard? Apparently, once some controls are added to ensure the communcation of accurate information, sex ed works better at a peer-to-peer level.
I suspect the success has less to do with embarassed teachers, and more with embarassed students. As a teenager, it's way cooler to hear about sex from a college student than to try and imagine your REALLY OLD bio teacher (who is probably, like, forty) knowing anything about sex.
